Almond Amaretto Pound Cake

I want to share this amazing recipe of Almond Amaretto Pound Cake. Frankly speaking, this is not my merit that now I’m writing the post to you about this dessert. My daughter Emily found the recipe and showed me it. She asked me to do it. When I read the title of the recipe I understood, that this cake includes alcohol and I decided to open the full version of the recipe to be confident.


It was true, but you need to prepare for the cake and the top. This top contains amaretto and other ingredients; to make a cake you also need some amaretto, but you pour some drops into the dough. While baking all alcohol will be evaporated and only will give agreeable taste and smell. I decided to make not only the original top for the dessert but also the cherry top for my children.

So, I will describe to you how to prepare the dough, original top and ‘children’ top.
To make the cake you need butter, sugar, almond and vanilla extract, eggs, baking soda, flour, some milk, vinegar and of course amaretto. Preheat oven to 325°F. You should prepare a medial bowl and mix together butter and sugar. Then add almond and vanilla extract and baking soda.



All flour needed for this cake you should divide in half. Add the first part of flour into a bowl and blend all ingredients. Then you put milk and vinegar into a blender. At the end pour amaretto and stir until well combined. Prepare the pound pan and bake this cake for 55-60 min.

To make the top for the cake prepare a small saucepan. Put the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and amaretto together and heat over medium heat stirring often until smooth.
To make the top for children you need cherry and sugar. Put these ingredients instead of ingredients in the original top and do the same.

When everything is prepared, pour the top to decorate cake and give it a sweet taste and unbelievable smell. Have a nice meal!
